SMART Goal Crafter.com

As an engineering manager, some of my favorite conversations with my team are the ones about where they want to grow. The hard part was never identifying the ambition. It was turning vague ideas like "I want to get better at system design" into something specific enough to actually work toward. I lean on the SMART framework (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) in those conversations, but I kept hitting the same wall: everyone knows the acronym, and almost nobody's first draft of a "measurable" goal is actually measurable.

I built Smart Goal Crafter to close that gap. You start with the general goal idea and the UX walks you through each SMART criterion one at a time, asking the kind of follow-up questions a good manager would ask in that 1:1, not just "what's your metric?" As you answer, the goal assembles itself live into one plain sentence: "In order to ___, I will ___, measured by ___, by ___."

It's a React/TypeScript app built on a component library and design system I designed and built myself, including a full WCAG accessibility pass (contrast-checked color tokens, keyboard support, light/dark theming) and a five-step color ramp that visually tracks your progress through the framework as you fill it in.
